Sydney's New Hair-do

Sad Day

Our friend Floyd passed away today. I met Floyd in the hospital when we first moved to Cuyahoga Falls. We spent time together as Georgia and I visited him those days. For some reason he always referred to me as "Sid." His daughter Beth asked him why and he didn't really have an answer. Apparently, I looked more like a "Sid" than a "Chris." Well we all have laughed about that and in the days before Sydney was born, that became the joking and then serious name we were considering. I guess you could say that Floyd helped name our daughter.

Floyd never got to see her in person. He had taken sick not long after she was born and had been in the hospital for several weeks. We took pictures up so he could see her, though. I'm sure she would have loved him.

Unhappy Sydney

Sydney has been particularly unhappy when I (chris) hold her lately. Needless to say, Saturday it upset me enough that I shaved my beard to try to make her happy. I think that means she's spoiled already!!

8 Week Checkup

24 inches long.
9 lb. 4 oz.
3 shots
2 upset parents
1 red-faced, screaming baby

All is well. Sydney got over the shots much more quickly than her parents did. So we bought her some clothes to assuage our guilt at causing her pain. Of course, she was sleeping and had no idea we were trying to buy her forgiveness. Just as well, I suppose . . .

Girls are so complicated

What it took to change Sydney from her pajamas to her clothes for the day:
4 diapers
3 changing table sheets
2 crib sheets
3 onesies
2 sets of clothes
1 bath

All in all Sydney was pretty patient with us!

Funny

When Sydney wakes up early (530am). We will sometimes put her in bed with us for the last hour of our sleep. This morning she was between us and kept managing to move her head and shoulders so that she was touching Georgia. Georgia would move her back to the middle, but a few minutes later, Sydney would manage to snuggle down next to her.

And so, the kissing up to mommy and daddy begins . . .

6 Weeks

Today I went to the doctor. I have lots of gas and it is painful, so my parents wanted to make sure I am ok. I am fine.

I now weigh 9 lbs. 8 oz. That is a full pound more than I weighed a week and a half ago.

I can now fit into my newborn clothes.

My parents will be glad when I can wear Number 1 diapers instead of Newborn. They never put Newborn diapers on sale.

Oh Yeah

Yesterday I managed to poop in my diaper, up my back through my shirt and pants, and through both of my mom's shirts all the way to her skin.

This is fun to gross my parents out!!!
