More Fun
I have figured out how to wait until my diaper is off before I go to the bathroom, thus getting it all over my parents. I got my mom good today. Funny stuff. That's what they get for taking my clothes off all the time and making me cold.
Burt
My grandpa Burt got here last night. He sure does snore loud. Fortunately it was rhythmic so it helped lull me to sleep!
It's kind of fun waking up at 3:30 in the morning and watching my mom and dad take care of me half asleep. I am enjoying keeping them up at all hours of the night. I just don't want them to forget about me so I am trying to remind them often. :)

First Trip
We took Sydney to the Dr.'s office this morning. She did good and was awake the whole time. She has gained 2 oz., which is a sign of good health and that her bilyrubin (sp?) levels are leveling out. It wore her out, though and she slept the whole way home.
She is very active (another good sign), unfortunately a lot of it is at night time. But we are glad she is moving and growing.
I'm still trying how to change her diaper without her dirtying the new one before I get it on her!!! It's making for a lot of extra diapers. Oh well, I guess my timing is just off.

First Night
We made it through our first night at home. Sydney definitely has days and nights mixed up. She was so wide awake last night, it was unbelievable. She gonna be a night person like her parents.

Home at last . . .
The Dr. released Sydney today, so we got home about a half an hour ago. It's good to be home again. Sydney's not so sure, but then again, this isn't home to her yet.
Glad to be in comfortable surroundings again. The stress is melting off.
Oh yeah, and Sydney has HUGE feet!!

One More Day
The Doctor wants to keep Sydney at the hospital one more day to make sure her jaundice is okay (something about her belly-rubbin' levels. I've been rubbing her belly for hours and it doesn't seem to be helping). They have a uv blanket on her back that shines a bright light on her all the time. When she is swaddled, she glows bright blue--like a glowworm. I'll post some pictures later.
In case you can't tell, this is the way I am showing my excitement about being a dad.
Thanks for all the emails to Sydney's email account. I know Georgia will really enjoy reading them to Sydney once we get home and settled down.

Almost Home
Georgia and Sydney are doing well. Sydney is a little jaundiced, so they are keeping her one more night to watch her. She has a neon blue light on her back so it looks as if she is glowing. And I thought it was just the proud mama who glowed!!
On a lighter note, Georgia's mom and I were looking at a menu and she mentioned that the alternative to soup was "roasted elephant." I was intrigued until I read for myself and discovered it was roasted EGGPLANT. So much for exotic food at the hospital.
